Challenge
Mid-Cheshire had a typically traditional, lacklustre image, especially with its target audience of young adults. In terms of learning though, the College was Grade A: rated Outstanding by Ofsted, with an exceptional record of success. Time to change perceptions.
Creative thinking
Working to tight budgets, we created a new identity that initially appeared in new prospectuses to help achieve the desired 5% growth in applications. These introduced refreshing photography featuring real students, designed to increase the College’s appeal to future students. The knock-on effect was to improve parents’ and peers’ impressions, too.
Results
Early results from the College’s own survey were impressive: 74% thought the new prospectus inviting, with 81% finding the imagery particularly attractive. More importantly, the fresh look led to a better-than-projected increase in Further and Higher Education applications – the latter by a remarkable 12.2%.
